Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) – Country Director Position in DRC
Introduction
Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) has been actively engaged in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) since 1973, focusing on promoting positive gender relations, providing access to safe water and hygiene facilities, and fighting inequalities. As Country Director, you will play a pivotal role in representing NCA to donors and regional partners, providing effective leadership to the NCA’s DRC office, and driving the organization’s program development and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Engage with Donors: Network with donors to secure funding and support NCA’s funding priorities and strategies.
- Strategic Direction: Set direction, prioritize actions, and organize resources to position NCA for new opportunities in the region.
- Operational Management: Oversee the operational management of NCA’s country office in DRC, fostering a positive team environment and developing staff.
- Communication: Clearly communicate present and future program goals and strategies to team members and stakeholders.
- Emergency Response: Handle emergency response situations effectively.
- Strategic Program Management: Manage and further develop NCA’s country program, including strategic decision-making, line management of the Senior Management Team, and security management.
- Donor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with donors and key stakeholders, including managing applications for funding and reporting.
Qualifications
- Leadership Experience: At least 4 years of leadership experience in international relief and development programs.
- Program Management: Demonstrable success in managing large, complex development programs, including long-term aid, emergency, and advocacy work.
- Knowledge of Norwegian Policies: Good knowledge of Norwegian policies and priorities in development aid.
- Emergency Response Experience: 5 to 7 years’ experience working with emergency response.
- Education: Relevant higher education in a related field.
- Language Skills: Fluent in French with excellent English language skills (oral and written).
