Project Description
Project Name: BRIDGES (Building Reconciliation and Peace through Inclusive Dialogue, Gender Equality, Sport and Protection of Cultural Heritage)
Funding: European Union
Implementation Area: Mudug, Nugaal, Sool regions (Puntland and Galmudug States), Somalia
Objective: Promote peace, reconciliation, freedom of expression, human rights, and inclusion, led by Somali civic society actors, with a focus on women and youth.
Job Responsibilities
Book-keeping, Finance, and Budgeting
Manage day-to-day cash management, transaction recording, and accounting for the BRIDGES project.
Prepare financial reporting and monthly funds requisitions.
Maintain proper filing systems and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
Human Resources Management, Legal Compliance
Maintain project staff files and prepare payrolls and statutory deductions.
Ensure timely payment of taxes and compliance with local regulations.
Purchasing and Logistics
Verify payments to suppliers and support procurement procedures.
Manage inventory and assets for the project.
Management Control
Follow up with project partners for document submission and compile financial reports.
Mandatory Requirements
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in humanitarian projects.
Bachelor’s degree in economics or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
Good knowledge of English, Somali, and the Somali context, particularly in Garowe, Puntland.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience with the European Union as a donor (advantageous).
Experience in the logistics sector (advantageous).
